About Whitefort
I started Whitefort because I genuinely love to travel and I believe that the world has more to offer us than we could hope to see in one lifetime. We grow in very profound ways as we travel, and it changes us permanently. Whether our reasons for undertaking the adventure of international travel are business or leisure in nature, there exists great promise out there in our wider world.
But acknowledging reality means also acknowledging the barriers to that promise. Time and money certainly come to mind here, but they are far from the only obstacles. Even when those potentially large obstacles are overcome, another obstacle often remains: uncertainty. Is the destination safe? Has anything changed since the last visit? Are my safety concerns valid, or are they an artifact of our confusing media landscape? These questions reflect that uncertainty, and that stifles dreams — I built Whitefort specifically to address that.
Whitefort provides travel risk intelligence products that reduce this uncertainty. The information in these assessments can mean the difference between joy and disappointment, between preparedness and being caught off guard, and in some cases, between safety and real danger. I take that seriously. When someone trusts me with their plans — their business trip, their family vacation, the journey they've been dreaming about for years — I treat that trust as a genuine obligation to reduce their uncertainty. Although Whitefort uses artificial intelligence during the collection, processing, and analysis phases, every product Whitefort delivers is reviewed by me personally before it reaches a client.
Sometimes, the assessments contained within Whitefort's intelligence products might cause a change of plans or even the delaying of a trip. But just as often, the right information can be the reassurance one needs in order to actually take that trip — to go ahead with the once-in-a-lifetime experience they almost talked themselves out of, or to make that international business connection that might never have happened otherwise. That's the outcome I'm working toward every time, and I am passionate about it.
So, who am I? I am not a travel blogger. I came to this work through a specific path that I hope adds trust to our intelligence products. I first learned of the importance of thorough, actionable intelligence while serving as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. That experience piqued my interest in the field of intelligence enough to develop my analytical skills and eventually pursue a Master of Arts in Intelligence Studies from American Military University. I have also been fortunate enough to spend the last thirteen years as a Safety and Risk Director for a successful mid-size company operating across multiple US states. Doing professional risk analysis and keeping people safe is my daily profession and passion. Perhaps most importantly, I've also traveled extensively across diverse international environments myself, which means I'm not assessing conditions I've never experienced. Whitefort is the natural outgrowth of my personal experiences and passions.
In closing, travel risk data sources have always existed, albeit from overly broad, disorganized, and impersonal sources. What hasn't existed is a service that packages them alongside a rigorous analytical methodology — derived from unclassified techniques pioneered by government intelligence agencies and academia from all over the world — into personalized, human-reviewed products at a price point that makes sense for individuals and small businesses. That's what Whitefort can provide, and I look forward to working with you.
